Biscotti (meaning "twice-baked") is a traditional Italian dipping cookie which is fast becoming a part of the American lifestyle. Italians however have enjoyed biscotti for centuries. In fact historians trace biscotti origins to little cakes made with nuts and honey that were eaten by the Romans on festive occasions. Later, Italian tradesman and explorers found that the twice baked bread, that was hard and dry, would keep well on long voyages.
Coffaro’s is proud to present its original line of biscotti made with all natural fresh ingredients. Try them for breakfast as a treat with your coffee, at midday for a quick snack, or after the evening meal with ice-cream. Or you can be daring and dip them in wine like the Italians do. The recipes for these wonderful tasting, crispy biscotti have been in the Coffaro family for over 100 years and were served at the original Coffaro Brothers Bakery in Somerset, New Jersey in the 1920s.
